You're looking for a little instant gratification! Then a 100 shot of N2O will bolt right up to your beast.

Wow, sounds like an interesting project! What did you do for an ECM? Got any pics, I'm sure we'd all love to see them

The Z06 heads are pretty good, so they really open up with cam only (and required support components like springs, retainers, etc.) Several folks in the 420-430rwhp range with intake, headers, cam and stock heads.

Good luck!

Absolutely... MTI has some great combos and are great people. I'm running the X-1 cam and will be bolting on the stage 2R heads from MTI. These heads are flowing close to 330 compared to the AFR 205's which are in the 310 range. The nice thing with these heads is there is no fly cutting neccessary and you will make between 470-480rwhp. With the 18% drivetrain loss, that's 573-585bhp with good driveability. On top of that, you save a ton of weight over the S/C'd route, have a much broader powerband, and don't lose power due to the heat choking out the S/Cer. Not to mention a rough idle sounds mean! Good luck and sounds like a great project.

A nice bump stick is always fun... after I'm done wasting more money on track mods and track time I'll eventually get one... the G5-X2 sounds nice!

Wouldn't swapping a set of 1.8 or 1.85 rockers make a worth-while power increase?? I'd like to think that increasing the lift from .550" stock (right? ) to .582" (w/1.8's) or .599" (w/1.85's), while maintaining the stock duration and "characteristics" of the cam, would make a heck of a difference? AND, rocker arms are a lot quicker and easier to change than the camshaft!

Hello DT!

Yes i have few picks but dont have a clue how to post em...

I would be intrested of higher rate rocker arms and ti retainers. Has anybody tested em only ? To see any power gains. And tuning the ecu would be good idea . What is the best way to do it now days? I recall last time i ask it cost was pretty high.

A cam and tune will get you close to 425 to 430 RWHP. By my calculations that's about 480 HP at the crank.

LET me add to get those HP numbers you will also need full length headers, air intake, dyno tune and probalby exaust and most consider the manual C5s tranny have 15% drivetrain loss, and if you go with the norm, 425 rwhp is 500 crank HP and is not an easy number to achieve!!

Default 63 SW LS6. 6sp

I'm in the process of doing the same thing with a Paul Newman frame with C4 suspension. Was wondering where you found LT's for it?

I saw a '59 once with an LS1 sitting in its engine bay. It was a really clean install, and it made for a really nice combination. An LS6 would be even better!

That's sounds like a fun ride, are you putting a 6 speed with the combo and some wild gears? The car will be a novelty without an equal. Good Luck.
