Does Carb Cleaner Really Work?
I was wondering if it really works.
My '80 is really starting to shake alot.
Should I try spraying carb cleaner into it?
Does this stuff have any negative side effects?
Can I start a fire with this stuff?
HELP!!!

Just be careful how you use it.
I have used it to clean the out side of the carb,
and parts to
Don't use around heat, flames ,parks

Megss got the idea, like anything else it's gotta be used with common sense, correctly if you will.....
good solution for clening out and in a carb, even fuel injectors...IF you use it right,.....
common sense...

It does not work if you intend to simply spray it on the outside of the carb and down the venturi while the carb is installed on the engine, unless you simply want to cosmetically clean the outside of the carb. It will not have any effect on carb performance by spraying the outside surfaces, and it will not correct your problem. Carb cleaner (in a can) can be effectively used once the carb is completely disassembled to blow through and clean out the passages inside the carb after the carb has been properly soaked and cleaned in carb cleaner. If you're having carb issues, you need to yank the carb off, disassemble it, clean it right, and do a good setup on it.
