My Kit, his car :)

I've lowered the price on the kit...if anyone wants it, it's less than what I paid for it, and it's no longer available with the Lingenfelter imprinting...

Jerry, how many of these kits are in existance? I was thinking you'd told me before, but wasn't quite sure of the exact number...

Josh,
Not even LPE is sure of the exact number. From my discussions with LPE, they have actually built 2 cars with the complete treatment, the red 415 car used in the LPE website and a black 368 car in TX that has not been seen or heard of since it was built several yrs ago. John's personal ZR-1 had the rear bumper only and is not included in this number.

LPE does not have any documentation to say for certain how many kits were actually produced. To the best of my knowledge, there were 3 other kits produced, and one of those is the one I built my car from. Of the remaining two , one belongs to you and the other to another individual in Virginia that I won't name out of respect for his privacy.

Summary as follows;

Red 415 LPE Aerobody built by LPE
Black 368 LPE Aerobody built by LPE
Black :blueangel: LPE Aerobody (A26B, mine)
Kit, uninstalled ( PaceThis)
Kit, uninstalled (Virginia)
Total = 5 possible completed

and
Yellow 415 LPE Aerobody rear bumper only, built by LPE (John's)

Thanks for the info!

A little strange that John's own car only got the rear bumper...I have a pic of that car and it looks strange as the rear bumper juts out with no match on the rocker panels...

I think it looks pretty good. The reason he did the rear piece only was that it allows the use of the integrated CHMSL into the bumper, thus making it more stable at high speeds, and the spoiler provides downforce over 200 mph as well. He was planning on doing a high speed run with this car, but the engine wasn't done before he had a chance.

There is also a red 95 with the rear bumper. There is a picutre of it in "Corvette Milestones" magazine. Has a roll cage, some serious wheels, forced air induction and potental coilovers. Captions says, "1990-95 ZR-1s are the only production Corvettes to have come with a truly exotic powerplant. Four overhead cam, 32-valve V8 delivered 405 horsepower in its final incarnation. This '95 ZR-1 was modified for even greater performance."

Will this kit fit on a non-zr-1? If so, how much do you want for it?

Yea Dwight, I noticed that in my car too! Getting rid of the CHMSL really did make it a lot more stable at high speeds and the spoiler really makes it stick like glue in the corners once you get over 200 mph. Can't tell much difference until then though. JeffVette is trying to find me some Dunn heads so I can run with the big boys. :rofl: :rofl:

LOL, you don't want those paper weights, unless you want to run 12's in your 415. :lolg:

I seen a Rick Mears Special Edition ZR1 today. How many of these are out there. Looks alot like the LPE Aerobody kit in the rear, but the front end looks different than LPEs. Awesome looking car as well. Didn't know they existed.

I'm sure the higher hood and the clearance around the top of the engine aids cooling, but to what extent..... I couldn't quantify. The Ron Davis Radiator & drilled 180 t-stat was a definite help.

Dwight just loves those "stands for" abbreviations doesn't he. :cool: CHMSL stands for center high mount stop light.
