Looking to buy. Need help.
I am currently looking to purchase a c6 corvette. So far I have had the chance to drive 2 different cars. An 07 with 40k miles and a fully loaded 05 with 50k something miles. The 07 drove really nice and was a fun ride but it was a about 8k more than I wanted to spend. The 05 wasn't as enjoyable which bummed me out because it was a beautiful car. It was a really rough ride and really shaky on bumps. It also had a really rough idle. I didn't get the same joy as i did with the 07. So here is where I need the help, what should I look out for when I look at these cars and should I be worried about buying a vette with higher miles? What problems should I expect and or look for? With what I want to spend I will probably have to find something with 60-80k miles. I have always wanted a corvette and they have always been my dream car. I don't want to rush the looking process and end up with a nightmare car. Any advice you have that can help in anyway or point me in the right direction would be much appreciated. Thank you!

Spend more time understanding the options available and what is important to you. Also make sure you fully understand what has been modified on the cars you look at. To me it sounds like the 05 you mentioned has been mod'd in the suspension and possibly engine/camshaft type of thing. Idk just guessing based on your description. certainly 40-50k on the clock is not awful, but if those have been hard miles with 1/2 of them in 1/4 mile intervals you probably want nothing to do with it. Just take your time and research. Dont rush into anything.

Here's my 2¢: Set your budget and buy the best Vette you can find. No matter what you buy, pay a Corvette specialist to give the car a thorough inspection. If you can't find cars you like within your budget, don't buy until you have enough money to purchase the car you want. Have some extra cash on hand to take care of any unforeseen repairs. Don't get hosed because you "just have to have a Corvette" right now.

Just be patient. You can find guys who want a c7 so bad they aren't thinking straight and get a low mileage garage puff for low bucks...(relatively speaking)
The next few months may be one of he best times ever to pick up a nice c6....OR Z06.
Shoot for an 08 as a minimum juts because that will make you happier in the long run imo.
I say that now but my 07 was fantastic to me but its clouded some by being my first...The ls3 and tranny upgrade is better.imo
