Default Weird Headlight Gremlin?

Took the car out today to go get some food and it was raining. Turned on the headlights and only the driver-side headlight came up. Passenger side stayed down. Cycled them between on and off about 4-5 times before the passenger side light finally came up. I thought it might be the motor, but there is no horrible grinding noise associated with the movement up or down. Found this thread but it's not really definitive in giving an answer: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-t...nt-pop-up.html

Any ideas?

Very likely the motor gear. If so get the brass replacement.

Damnit. I hope it's not the case. I know the replacement is a DIY project, but do you have to readjust the angle after replacement?

I adjusted mine, but they were screwed up to start with. Not sure otherwise.

That is exactly the way mine presented. No passenger side pop up. After getting it to pop up once, I started getting the rat-a-tat-tat sound on closing the lights. Replacement brass gear and all is well now. Not a bad job to do, especially on a 1998 with motor gear box screwed together.
