Default WTB Your Low Mile Used LS7 Longblock

My motor is toast...not even gonna tear it down, broke topend at the track at 6800 rpm and doesnt even turn over....lots of fluid and metal coming out of the throttle body so its safe to say whatever happeed totally wiped my engine out....looking to replace it on the cheap so if you have a low mile unmodified stock ls7 for sale from an 08 or newer Z06 im interested at the right price....ive found BRAND NEW crated ls7 for $9800 so if your thinkin about asking crazy money for your stock motor please move on... looking to spend $5000 and not a penny more....so if youve done a custom build and have your original sitting around collecting dust i got $5000 for you! PM with details, must be willing to ship to 14092 Lewiston NY...thx in advance!

This is your best bet! Get the new motor your talking about...because as stated "Your not going to find a LS7 for $5k" unless it has issues as well.

Where did you find a brand new LS7 for 9800. ?

I'm pretty sure that's the price for a brand new GM long block, not a complete LS7.

I got a nice low mile LS3 I'm gonna sell. LS7 are really in demand right now I just paid 8500 for a 4K mile longblock. People are using them in alot of swaps because of the instant power they have with a cam only. Its gonna move my 71 El camino along nicely

You better buy that LS7 becasue when everyone finds out were you can get one for $9800, it will be gone.

sdparts has some of the best prices on crate engines and they want $16,956.

I think that $9800 motor requires a core. I remember seeing it somewhere, but the way it sounds his will not work. Sounds like a dropped valve so his core is done.

Check out the LS1tech forum parts section. There is a brand new world warhawk LS7 block for sale for I believe $1750. I have seen a set of titanium rods for an LS7 for sale here, add a crank and salvage some of your pistons and you can put together a motor for less than your budget.

Just my $.02

The $9800 engine is a factory LS7 Long Block. It is a fully assembled short block and Heads and it comes with a $1200 core charge, so it actually costs $11,000. I bought a few last year to use as crate engines for different applications. They are not a bad go if you are ok, cleaning and re-using some parts.

I actually am correcting my own above post....i called them 5 mins ago and spoke with a gentleman named Tom he indicated that the sale price of 10,500 already included the $1200 core charge and aslong as my block isnt crackes or have a hole punched through it by a rod that it is considered acceptable...so in fact the longblock can be had as cheap as $9300...so yah brand new longblock ls7 with 3 yr/36 mile warranty sounds pretty damn good....so with that info what would the nay sayers that posted here consider a good price for a used longblock??? $5k??? i think im bang on the money with my $5k considering its used and theirs always an "unknown/unforseen" chance your taking with used...AND used comes with NO warranty either... this comes with a full 3yr/36k warranty...!!! so ill just restate my original post.....looking for non modified stock ls7 used low mile in perfect running condition for $5k or less BECAUSE a brand new one can be had for $9300 with warranty! any non beleivers can take 5 mins and call Tom at crate engine depot in Illinois at 877 441 5150 a d confirm what i just posted themselves!

Sounds right, the last one I bought was for $8900 through my local GM Dealership and they always cut me great deals. I was in it for $10,100 out the door. Please know that you will have additional expenses of new oil lines and a new oil cooler. Please do not try to clean them out or have them boiled.....replace them with new GM parts to protect your new $10,000 investment!

Here's what Im offering: The complete motor dry sump oil cooler wiring harness manifold clutch and everything with only 15,000 miles still running in my car right now as we speak so you know it's good.$8,000 You won't find cheaper and if you want to buy new have fun spending the other $5,000 extra. That link is for a stripped down bare bones motor. You're still a good $4,000 in parts away from making that thing work, mine is plug and play will drop right in. Your call.
