Were you getting abnormal vibrations with it in the car? If the vibes went up with engine speed, that's a good smoking gun.

Disclaimer: I'm no expert on this.

Just to get you started so maybe others coming later will be able to assist more, a fair amount of run-out is common, but 2mm? I don't know. Check this often cited rebuild from a C5 Z06 to get some idea what's going on. Come back with as much info as you can to help others here help you.

Actually that's very normal and was probably knocked around a bit on the removal. The housing asm actually has an o-ring around it to allow it. You can actually tap around the ends and get them out way more than that. It will self align on the reinstall.

Tap harder..I have yet to see one of these actually bend, although they all look it. Now ripping the splines off them etc is a different story

Let's try, tomorrow I'm more wise. I'll take away also and check it through on lathe (hope the lathe is right word, bad English..) before I place an order of new..

Thanks everyone!!

I was at the local Chevy dealer last week and they had an 08 torn down for a bent torque tube input shaft for the second time. I looked at the shaft and it was actually bent! Also, the splines on the rear to the shaft (closest to the tube itself) were worn off. The car was previously in for same issue and the crank was replaced. Will keep you folks posted when (if) I find the answer.

It's checked. See attached picture.. It's like banana, also one leg 0,12 mm slanted compared to others.

Normal or abnormal??
