I too am interested. THose round headlights sure are dated. Idealy, I would like to put some REALLY current lenses with halogen bulbs in. Let me look around. About ready to replace my A-Arms with new bushings, ball joints, etc for the beginning of the winter season. That would be the time to tear into it. Also found a new bumper so while I have the old one off ....

I was a little surprised to see the square headlight conversion for the Stock Pop ups in the current Corvette Central catalog. Part Numbers 143208 143215 and 14217 No Prices

I believe those part numbers are for the fixed headlights.

Any headlight mounting cup from an 80's GM car that has four 4x6 headlights will work (Camaro, regal, monte carlo...ect). You have to trim them where they are about an inch wide (use the square hole in the cup as guide, ignore the factory mark as it is curved). You need brackets to relocate the headlight adjusters. The bezels are the hard part to find. I have a full set of brackets and a partial set to use as a pattern to make more. I had 4 sets made and sure the shop still has everything in their computer. I also have a new RH bezel and 3 different sets of mounting instructions.

So what are you willing to part with?

So... does anyone have a set of brackets they'd be willing to sell? I have the bezels and the buckets- I just need the little metal four-hole brackets.

Thanks!!

Default I have them.

I just got a 73 stingray, it has the rectangle lights in the flip ups. I personally don't like them, and would be interested in swapping for stock.

I have all the parts from a 76 for the round headlights that i would swap for the square ones you have.

That whole set up looks extremely similar to the ones used on 98-02 F body Firebirds and Trans Ams. Right down to the trim cover.
If you can pick up a set or know someone with an Fbod it may be worth a look.

Not trying to hijack this really old thread but I just put this set up from an 86 Camaro on my 78. Really easy except for finding the bezels. I found one good one for the right side. IF ANYONE would happen to have one for the driver side buried under 30 or 40 years of parts and trash , please let me know. I really want to show both headlights off but I might just have to settle for a WINK until I locate a second bezel.

Take your right-side bezel to someone who works in the printed parts industry. There should be a way to scan your part for 3-D modeling so that it could be 'printed' in plastic. There also should be software available to 'reverse image' the right-side part so that it, too, can be printed. If you get that figured out, YOU can sell kits for rectangular headlamp along with YOUR plastic bezels.

I tried that. I even joined a local group that taught 3D printing. They had the printers but not the necessary camera. They were teaching some type of programing and the consensus was that the bezel was too complicated to do without using a camera. And yes my plan was to use the side I have and try to make a mirror image of it. That didn't pan out. A member here was nice enough to loan me a bezel he had to make a mold of it, but after practicing onan old part I had and pretty much destroying it, I thought twice about ruining his good part. So I am now following a few other options, like getting a bezel from a firebird, cutting it as needed ans glassing in the sides from an old C3 bezel. I keep reminding myself that it's the journey, not the destination that is the fun. DId I mention that I have to keep reminding myself of that....Thanks.

I still think the camera/software/3D printing approach is the right one. Maybe do a little more research on what sources might have the camera you need and contact a few to discuss it. Nothing to lose....
