Default ZR1 side skirt install

My side skirts came in and it looks like instead of aluminum rivets it came with just plain black screws. Should I go ahead and install with these or pick up rivets originally used on the zr1 side skirt install.

They are the rpi designs side skirts so if anyone has any experience with them, please let me know

black screws are ok....plus you dont have to drill out all the rivets if you need to take them off...have mine on for a few months now...look great, no issues

That is the bitchy part... Thanks for posting the pics... The car looks amazing!! I love the front lip but my driveway keeps me getting it!! NY roads have a big appetite for the front lips...

By the way, what lip is that? Is it urethane? Looks that way from the pics atleast..

Not really sure which brand the lip is. It was on the car when I bought it. It's made of fiberglass though. The only bad thing about it is that it doesn't have the holes where the brake ducts are.

Look great, I think I will get some of these once I decide to spend money on the aesthetics of the car and not just the performance.

My RPI C/F side skirts showed up today. They did not come with instructions. Install seams pretty straightforward, but I'm wondering about the attachment of the skirt to the rear wheel well splash guard. They came with a bag of black screws with washers. Six have a larger washer than the remainder. No bolts. There's not much meat on the side skirt to screw them to the rear splash guards. I think bolts would be a better option.

If anyone has installed these side skirts, how did you attach the skirts to the splash guards? I have the car up on ramps and will install them tomorrow.

Get poprivets from home depot for your side skirts. I tried the screws but almost all of them fell out. I love the rivets. It's a strong hold and it wasn't that hard.

Screws will rattle loose, it needs to be in there with rivet's, just like GM did.

I have a PDF full color install instruction sheet on our site if you would like to see.

Default rivets

do yourself a favor and rivet the side skirts on. you need 4 rivets to attach the fender pieces to the side skirt anyway. it does a much better job and holds it much tighter to the car. and to drill them out incase you need to remove them is not a problem. another option is to go to GMpartshouse.com and buy the factory mudflaps. they are better quality and come with all screws and rivets needed for mudflap and sideskirts.
