Speeds are posted on milemarker-1.com
I think it is quite interesting seeing the difference in these speeds verses personal GPS instruments.

Great run....at the last mile run with the other group Top Gun I ran 184.5 and and kept on the gas for about a second after and hit 190 mph on my GPS....these events are awesome.....Their speed laser system was dead on accurate.

The timing equipment was set up like a drag strip trap...it measured the time between you crossing two beams and calculated the mph. It was manually setup that morning, and at those speeds, even a few inches of error in the setup would cause the readings to be low. Every single person there with GPS said it was 4 mph low.

Gary these events ARE awesome. I've done Road Course, Drag Strip (a lot) and now this.

oh and it carts me back and forth to work every day too!

Thanks! So does yours. My 4y/o always points out your car when we see you running around (when we are in our Pilot). Matter of fact when I pulled into the garage for the first time after the kit was put on he said "Daddy you got a Z06". Smart boy that one.

Default LeMans Blue FTW

Joe, your car is gonna increase the demand to bring back LeMans Blue - since it looks so GOOD on your "Grand Sporty" C6.

Oh my, that's a good point! Well you live in a better neighborhood than me, remember I had my previous Vette stolen from my driveway so I'm extra cautious....lol

I was so impressed in your license plate that I wondered if anyone could figure it out! But maybe you better take it down. It is very clever of you and quite esoteric which is why I like it so much.

And thanks for the kind words, I do love the LeMans blue and Pride Auto Body did a great job on the car. I didn't think my factory paint job was bad until I saw the glass like no orange peel finish they put on.

It was great meeting you Lee and congrats on the rock solid time.

The mph's were definitely off in my opinion. My buddy in a turbo NSX was reading 4mph over what the slips told him as well so that theory is confirmed indeed.

Oddly enough I was very unhappy with my runs.

1st run was solid up until 500' or so before the 1 mile mark where the car seemed to hit a "limiter."

2nd run I ran in the second lane, which was very bumpy for my stiff settings on the pfadt shocks. Ended up getting traction control active half way down and had to let off. Got back in it after a sec or so and just finished the run out not pushing to the max.

3rd run got back in the silky smooth right lane, left the line good and hit a "limiter" again just before the 1 mile marker. ODD!!!!!!!

Wasn't hitting the rev limiter that I'm pretty sure of. I'm running stock wheels and tire sizes thru a 3.42 stock rear. I was at 160mph just before the 3/4 mark in 5th gear.

My HUD and dash speedo read 175ish the last time I glanced down and that was just before the 1 mile marker but just before the car hit a "limiter." Does the C6 have a speed limiter @180mph?

I'm going to see if my tuner can spin it on the dyno up to that kindof speed and see whats going on. Oddly enough too, on the 1st and 3rd runs my airbag light came on after the 3/4 mark.

When this, what feels to me like a limiter, hits it cuts power and just stops pulling. Almost like a fuel cut somewhat. Did not make getting my 180mph slip goal feasible this time out. But I'll be back next event later this year to get it for sure.

And YES, nastyZ06 is definitely a NASTY Z06, DAMN!!!!!!!!

What happens when you stick it in 6th gear? Will it still accelerate?

Wasnt at redline in 5th and being within 500' or so of the mark at that speed I didnt think about it fast enough to try.

I've always thought that top speed in a C6 or C6Z was reached in 5th gear. Dropping to 6th would actually slow the car down.

No. My buddy in his c5 Z has a shorter 5th than we do and he ran out of gear and shifted to 6th, and you should hear the car bog when he hits 6th. He will have the vid up shortly and I'll try to remember to cross post.

My car got traction control and the airbag light too...but I've taken away my car's ability to use traction control via my tune so it didn't slow me down at all.

The car most definitely has a few rev limiters on it including a secondary acceleration based rev limiter that I had to find and turn off.. It also has two speed limiters one for flat tires and one for normal purposes (stock is set at 186 for no flat and 80 for a flat). Both of mine are set at 255.

Default Here are just a few of the rev limiters on the C6...

That RPM Limit Accel Thresh vs Accel caused me fits 4 years ago when I got 3.90 gears, I would hit it all the time in 2nd gear at 5200 rpm. Drove me nuts, my tuner at the time couldn't help, I learned from this forum about this table, so I went out and bought HP Tuners just to turn off this rev limiter (once I made the 500 on the end a 0 it was fixed forever).

The side benefit was I taught myself to tune and I've been loving scanning and tuning ever since.

So any of these (or others) could be your culprit.
