Default Best Street/Strip Cam for LT1 383

Hi guys,
Im looking for an agressive street cam. Let me tell you a little about my build.
I have a 1996 Lt1 coupe. It has a completely forged bottom end, six inch rods, and SRP forged pistons. Compression will be 10.5 to 1 with a standard head gasket. Stall is 2400, with a beefed up tranny. I also have a 3:07 D-36 rear.

The heads........wwweeeellllll. . . . due to time and cost restrictions, I am reinstalling stockers which will have bowl work and a new valve job. I have the old heads out for porting (expected 260ish CFM at 550.), but wont have em back for at least a month and a half.

I am installing beehive springs (918's) now to handle any lift up to .600.

I need to install the cam to go with the later heads. I can handle any emissions issues. Also, I have shorty headers.

I was looking at the Gm847, the Comp XFI 280H , the Lunati 60122 and others. Any recommendations.

Why not go with a custom cam. Tell them exactly what you are looking for. I chose LE. They have done tons of these setups and can get you exactly what you are looking for.

Any recommendations then?

Also, what if I go up to a 3000 stall torque converter?

Here is a link to some pretty good cam selection information for the LT1.

http://www.ls1lt1.com/forum/showthread.php?t=25032

It should be able to answer most of the questions you have.

**Edit**

Come to think if it you should read the last 8 words in my sig, something tells me your going to be in the same boat.

After you get your flow numbers back for the heads, talk to Lloyd or Brett Bauer and give them your car's specs and what you want and see what kind of cam those guys recomend. Simple as that.
