Default BB head recommendations

Hey guys, I'd like to hear some recommendations for Alumimum heads for my BB project.

I'm going with a ZZ454 short block and a ZZ502 cam, I might step up one notch on the cam but will most likely stay with the zz502 cam.

Currently I am planning on a set of the zz502 heads, primarily for the 2.25 inch intake valves.

However there are LOTS of head choices out there in the same price range and I wonder if another choice might net better numbers?

Edelbrock, DART, Trickflow, Brodix..sheesh! Too many to keep straight.

I want to maintain daily driveability and good intake charge velocity, so I ASSUME that the smaller intake runner heads will be better for the street, but could be wrong.

Just looking for some input here.

Also what about rectangle port vs oval port?
Seems most street heads are oval port so I figure there's a reason.

thanks in advance

Brodix Race Rite ovals will be as good as anything, and better than most for what your doing.

I run Brodix Race-Rite heads, RR-BB-O, in a 69 Camaro on a 496. They're great. Many aftermarket heads move the exhaust port around which make header fitment tricky at times. The Race-Rites have the exhaust ports in the stock location.
