Nice! Just curious, is it Candy Apple Red or Candy Tangerine Red? Either way it looks great!

I cannot believe your "buy it now" price which seems to be below what non-Aerobody Callaways were going for last year.

The car is stunning -- I'm amazed nobody has snapped it up yet -- this economy really stinks...

Good luck

I don't understand the power plant on these Calloways. A 350CI vette engine with a twin turbo setup that only produces 390BHP? I realize my ZR-1 is a different animal, but it is still 350 cubes and NA, producing 400 with a few minor porting and chip mods. C'mon, there's ricers out there with half the cubes that produce much more HP. These Calloways should be hitting 500-600 at the LEAST.

So, what gives?

Nice job King!

2. ANY modded car that has half the CI's and more HP is NOT going to be worth more than $100K in 10-15 years! A Vette like this may very well be!

3. That's IF a modded ricer would still be on the road in 10-15 years!

That's the only thing i can think of!

I'm sure 89X2 or SunSurf will step in but its simple, BOOST! These cars were detuned and didn't run a lot of boost. Those ricers run a lot more boost. You can do turn the boost up and get much more like 500RWHP+.

What gives? What gives is I want this car

Ahhhh Callaway's.

People always look at peak hp numbers and make an immediate judgment. How many ricers are making 600lbft? If you stop and look at some of the 450rwhp 350ci LT5's all of the sudden a 375hp 350 doesn't look as impressive either. Throw Dwights 585rwhp 415 in the mix and its even more humble pie.

Remember, Reeves had to provide the warranty for all the people who bought these cars from the factory. If you were in his shoes and it was your money, would you go for max performance or really really good performance and reliability? What hp was a turbo ricer making in 1990...135? Id say 390 is awesome for that time and it still is. This car was the fastest US production car in its day.

My car was rated at 382hp/565tq at the crank. With a big wonderbar(like the listed car has),no cats and a tune it layed down 406rwhp/535rwtq thru the stock mufflers! Stock heads, stock cam, 7.5:1 cr.

I did an exhaust switch to a Power Effects system and laid down 436/576 at the wheels...with no air on the intercoolers!! This was on 12.5-13lbs of boost, thats not much. Most of the ricers youre referring to are running 25psi and are so far from reliable its not funny.

However we do have a member who has set his car up for max performance. With his built bottom end, ported 113 heads and a ZZ4 cam he did some test runs at 17, 20, and 24psi...Id say it makes a little bit of power thru the stock TPI intake as he only made 715rwhp.

This doesn't really seem like the right place for this? However, you know it's a stock TPI intake on them, stock heads, and a stock cam, right? The power peak is at 4,250 rpm and they don't rev a whole lot higher.

So you are putting boost on a 240hp engine and adding about 150hp to it. That's not so trivial when you think about it like that.

If I recall, there is nothing stock about that guys TPI intake. But it sounds like a bad car!

The 715rwhp car has a 100% stock TPI intake from top to bottom.

I agree this is not the right place. Perhaps once I own the car above we can continue the thread :

Dumb question: Is that a stock color for those cars?

I didn't know the other engine specs, but it just seemed like it was less power than it should have been making. With the restrictions I can see why. Don't get me wrong...it is a cool car and certainly more desireable than some pumped up ricer.

That said, I do think I'd have to "tweak" it a bit if I owned it.

There wasn't really a "stock" color for the cars. If you order a Callaway conversion the sky is the limit when it comes to color choices.

Your Killimg me with this car. I've lost a ton of money in the crash market and then you put this thing up for sale. I'm close to throwing caution to the wind and making you an offer but I don't own a flame suit to put on after you hear it:o I am going to put your # in my cell and go crazy tomorrow on if I should call you or not You think if I put up 15k the goverment will bail me out for the other 15k? if you see a 732-245-2788 it is me. Thanks Rick
