Default LT4 valves in LT1 heads..

I have a 92 corvette. I was just wondering will lt4 valves fit in lt1 heads? I took my heads to the local machine shop and the guy claims that he can't find any valves that will fit in the heads. I was trying to go to the lt4 2.00/1.55 valves over my stock 1.94/1.50. Is there any difference between the lt4 and lt1 valve stem size?

Default

no difference in stem diameter unless your LT1 heads were sent to some cheepo rebuilder that replaced the valves with oversize stem and drilkled the guides out (faster and cheeper than replacing guides).

As long as they are factory size (11/32), the LT4 valve will fit the guides.

the valve seats will need to be machined for the larger valves but they will work.
