Re: Pictures of Callaway Speedster #1 - Enjoy! (fastzr1)
I believe they are asking in the $150K range
Then again, this is car #1 (of 9), it has about 3K miles, 475HP, Lambo Blue Interior, Autographed, Engine/Rear End Chromed.... No Roof
I especially like the lowered winshield, curving windows, and humps.
Then again this is high dollar collector stuff!...

Re: Pictures of Callaway Speedster #1 - Enjoy! (TurboLuigi)
It looks like my car with chopped glass and the speedster decklid. :D
Are they advertizing it as Speedster #1? I'm just about positive that Speedster #1 was Lime Green. Unless that's a repaint. The car is Silver right? #1 did have the Blue leather... which looked hideous with Lime Green! :U
Obviously, I like Silver.

For us guys that are lucky enough to own a Aerobody, you'll know what I'm talking about when I say that look we get when we pull into a parking lot full of people or just driving down the road. We may not own a Speedster, but I think its safe to say we got the next best thing. :yesnod:

As observed, the only obvious difference between an Aerobody Twin Turbo and the Speedster is the Chopped Windshield, smaller windows, tunnels in the back, and Lambo Leather interior. Then again they also had the 475 HP engine.
The plaque in the Silver Speedster did say car # 1. I'm not sure if the Lime Green :U Speedster was the prototype. They had a beautiful Pearlscent Yellow Speedster which I loved :yesnod: , can't remember the car # and it had about 5K miles, and sold a few months ago.
With the convertible top down my car is just as sexy as the Speedster. Heck, even with the hardtop on, it's just as neat too. And since I also have the 475 HP engine, I think I got one heck of a deal.
But there is definite sexappeal to the Speedster styling and a rare sight to see.

Callaway 90 is right. The original color of the no#1 speedster was lime green. There were 10 speedster made and if you count the one that was assemblied around a ZR1 -Lt5 motor, you would have 11.

enjoy,

Re: Pictures of Callaway Speedster #1 - Enjoy! (*89x2*)
********Let me also add this, a while back, there was a Corvette w/ the option RPO B2K. Now that in itself is rare but what makes this one unique was, at the time of the sale, it was not converted!!! I forget who was selling it but I thought the "rumor" was that it was the destined 10th Speedster car.
It had B2K and was not converted but has it been now??? Stan A. had you heard this? I will locate the ad over the holiday's out of curiousity but I will say the ad is at least 7 or 8 yrs old so... *89x2*

I looked through the Corvette Informant for the picture of your car.
I couldn't make out your Callaway even with a magnifying glass :jester
I wish I could have been there

Re: Pictures of Callaway Speedster #1 - Enjoy! (TurboLuigi)
I thought this Silver car was the one that Otis Chandler had in the museum. Maybe he did a switch of the # plates? That wouldn't make any sense though as most of us even know the Green one :U was car #1. It had a few issues with the body panels as it was basically the prototype. I understand it was pretty rough.
As I understand it the 10th and final B2K (L98) Speedster was completed just about 1 year ago. It had been retained by Reeves Callaway all these years and he had it finished as a wedding gift to his new wife. I heard it from a reliable source but cannot confirm this.

Thanks, Luigi. Nice pics.
Do any of you Callaway guys have the full leather interior, with leather on the airbag, dash, doors, etc? Who did Callaway contract for his interiors?
I'd love to see some closeup pics of your interiors.
I think that would be a nice upgrade to the plasticky dash of my ZR-1.
