There is a specalized section devoted to cat audio but I suspect that the porblem is that while the opening is high and wide enough the problem is that it is not deep enough by a long shot

Not deep enough and the hole is din 1/2... not double din.

I wanted to do that but its a pain to make one fit. I have an Alpine IVA D310 flip-out touchscreen im going to run instead because the deck will fit a single din hole...

A double din will fit but you will need to enlarge the radio bezel and cut out a plastic support that supported the Bose radio.

Nice! Did you just trim the stock bezel?

I considered doing the work to make this happen but decided to go single din after thinking about the work involved to make the double din fit. It does look sweet though... hmm... might have to do that now dammit! lol

It can be done it just takes a little customization. I had to open up the console some and then sand and repaint. I'm still finishing it up.

It's tied up with a transmission rebuild at the moment. Hopefully I will have the finished pics in a few weeks.

I had to sand the top and bottom on the radio bezel opening a small bit but the sides needed a lot of trimming. It took me about 20 min to modify it.

Circuit City installed a Pioneer AVIC-D3 with just a very little sanding of the plastic and a little change to a mounting backet. They said it was an easy install on my '91.
