Yep. If there's one thing CF members are good at, It's spending other peoples money.

Timing chain was broken. Most of the valves were bent. Some pistons are marked but can be polished out. Getting some estimates on parts to see which way I should go.

Ya ..it just takes a lil tap to bend a valve

Glad you didn't blow holes into the pistons (seen that too)

I always replace with better than I had.. good time to take a hard look at what you can do aka how crazy can you get

Sorry for the bad outcome but look at it this way new forged top end enables more boost.

As Bill Curlee stated, start with the basics...Spark, fuel and compression. All of these can be easily accomplished with minimal tools and time.

At least that's my thoughts.
In his case, if he was to pull a plug, and do a compression test on ONLY 1 cylinder (his luck being the only one without damage), this test will lead to false results.

Isn't that so true!

So sorry to hear this man. I take it the LS engine are not "non-interference" engines?

Good luck man, if your gonna do it, GO ALL THE WAY! Fordge that bastard and kick up the boost.. ps: get an LS2 chain.

I just want to thank everyone for all their help. Especially you local guys, offering parts up and all, just a class act. It makes me even more proud to own a Corvette and be part of the Corvette community even when things aren't looking so well.

I have my fingers crossed that the car will be back together and tuned by this weekend. I am going the economy route at this time and just doing repairs. I still really want to go forged but could not fit it in the budget at this time. There will be a day........

Corey is having a B-B-Q and Car Show at Henderson Performance Technologies on Sun., November 18 from 9AM-3PM.
This is to benefit Blue Santa and they are accepting unwrapped toys and cash donations. You should come by, and if your cars not finished it will let you look in on it...
