The duration at .050 is more important for reference than gross duration. As long as you're less than 225ish @ .050, you should be fine for great mid range HP and torque. However, I seem to remember that the stock vortex heads and springs were only good for .460 lift. You might want to check before buying.

If you have a automatic trans you are getting real close to replaceing the torque convertor with a 2000 stall

Keeping it simple, with a stock setup I've had real good luck with the Comp 268/454.Great rumble without vacume probs. No need for a stall and will pull hard with the stock carb, intake, and headers. Lunati is making some real cool cams these days. You may want to call them for a recommendation.

There is a very good chance you will have an issue with valve springs/retainers. The stock vortec head is not made to handle that lift. I seen specs stating .460 to .480 max lift. Crane makes a kit,10309-1, with springs and retainers that allow up to .550 lift. these are drop in without any machining. Also keep in mind you need a new intake, self-aligning rockers, and center bolt valve covers.
The RPM range starts out at 1500. I don't think a higher stall converter will be necessary but maybe recommended. It looks like the cam is pushing the envelope. Your best friend(s) may be the support people at Lunati. Too 'big' of a cam for a street car may sound nice as it idles but may be a pain especially if running 3.08 gears.

Why not the cam I suggested in your other thread (SpeedPro hyd flat tap cam P/N CS1062R (.468/.480-220*/231* 110* cl) ??? ... you can probably buy it through your local parts house for a lot less $ than the Lunati. If you're stuck on names ... Lunati 60102 (.468/.489-219*/227* 110* cl) is virtually same cam as SP CS1062R.

I am limited here in a small town and was looking at jegs website and they did not sell the speedpro. They were offering free shipping so I was trying to order my heads and a cam from them.
