penut butter to remove road tar?
I was just watching the show "Rides" on TLC; Jay Leno got an old Duesenberg back on the road. During the break they had this car care tip about using penut butter to removed raod tar from your paint. They did not specify but it looked like the smooth kind and not the chunky. Said to use a soft cloth, work it and then wipe clean.
Anyone ever hear of this?

I have heard of peanut butter to remove old dried wax from plastic moulding and such, but even if it would work, the gross factor would keep me from using it, good old WD-40 or Stoners Tarmenator works fine for me.

WD-40 or any wax will remove tar. Save the peanut butter for pbj's.

paint thinner will take off tar instantly -- now don't everybody freak out - just wipe on, wipe off , you're done in 10 seconds. No damage to the clear coat. Have done it 100s of times.
like above, I wouldn't use the PB, just because it creates its own mess. But sure peanut oil, like other oils, should be expected to dissolve tar.
