Default Restore Mirror Shine to Carbon Fiber Parts?

So, I messed up. There was some road tar on a carbon fiber piece of my car, and I couldn't get it off, so I tried the green side of a normal dish sponge (the abrasive side). It was apparently so rough a fabric that it scratched the finish of the epoxy on my CF part, not deep or unevenly, just enough not to give it that deep, glossy look (now it looks hazy where I rubbed). I tried scratch out on it already; didn't make it worse, but didn't make it better either. Is there any way to get that mirror shine back, or did I just put a big mar in my panel to remove a couple of tar specks?

Default

my best guess would be treat it like a clear coat on paint.. get some polishing compound for paints and give that a try.. worst case i would go 2000 grit and then buff it out..

If you give up on it im always looking for carbon fiber stuff
