Default Removing C5 Fuel Door

I want to remove my C5 fuel door. I've removed the 3 screws (one deep inside towards the back of the driver's seat, the other two around the rim of the hole in the quarter panel. There still appear to be two rivets holding the door in place. Do those need to be drilled out to remove the door, or is there an easier way?

Thanks!

you definitely don't have to drill out any rivets to remove the gas door. I just did this a couple weeks ago, but I was also removing the fender, so that made it easy to see all around it. I will check it out in the garage in a bit and see if I can remember by looking at it. But it is all screws. Sounds like you already got the PITA one that was deep

I would let someone else chime in, but I am pretty sure you need the black fuel opening housing pushed away from the fender (inwards) to slide the fuel door off. Take out all the screws in there and push the black housing inwards and giggle the door.

Seinfeld "you have to giggle the ****". "Ah! get out of here with your ****"

I just did this a few months ago however I did not remove the fender. I did loose the fender from the door panel. I removed all the screws holding the door in place. I also removed all the screws covering the black plastic housing. Use a magnetic screw driver to make it easier and take your time. I dropped a screw and it took me 45 minutes to fish it out.

That's what I'm looking at. Those snap rivets don't have to be drilled out, because where I'm sitting, they're doing a darn good impression of holding the gas door hinge to the fender? Also, this is a 1998. Not sure if that makes a difference. Anyone who has put L5s on a 1998 will have had to do this. Anybody?
