Anybody shorten the length of shifter

back in the olden times a common mod was to replace the factory shifter with a HURST Competition Plus...what an improvement over the factory linkage. It did away with the factory reverse lockout BUT instead had a huge spring that needed to be overcome before reverse could be accessed, much less engaged. Those shifters were legendary then and would still work today; and the shifter stalks were interhangeable allowing for height and fore and aft placement of the shifter **** to be customzed for individual preference. A close ratio muncie and a Hurst shifter said it all.

I have the short shifter kit. I hate it. It makes the transmission harder to shift. That's just basic physics. Think about it. You're shortening a lever. Think back to your high school physics class.
There's no need for this kit on a road course. I'm just too lazy to go back to the stock shifter linkage.
