My 01 Z28 had steering wheel stereo controls. My 02 Z06 does not. Not really a big deal but I figure if a camaro had it in 01 why does the top vette in 02 not? Shifter shaft is too long. Other than that it does what I bought it to do, go fast and terrorize old women and children.

Todd, I sincerely hope that those "old women and children" are on a RACE TRACK somewhere

Reading this with great interest. My opinion is "its a 9-10 year old car...I would never buy
a car like this if I couldn't do the wrenching myself...first of all , you save mucho dineros,
second of all...I don't trust most shops because they never care about the car like its
their own. My son and I both own one...we feel its the easiest performance car to work
for a backyard mechanic...nothing here you can't fix easily except electronics...but they
are an issue in any newer car.

Safety Car
I dont like the steering wheel, so i removed it and put in a smaller diameter sparco
didnt like the shifter so put in a c6 shifter. dont like the seats, those are total junk, going to get replaced with sparcos as soon as i find the time to put it in.
stereo also sucks major donkey *****!

-Seats don't hold you in place enough/at all.
-Every c5 Z06 I've ever driven (about 5) all have a habit of getting dead pedal. Easy to fix but still annoying.
-The interior is OK for the price you pay. I feel like too many times I see people griping about this. It's not THAT BAD. I drove a 996 911 Turbo and the interior of that was nowhere near worth $110K. In fact nearly every person who's not a Corvette enthusiast who's ridden in my Z06 has a dramatically improved opinion of Corvettes afterward. So it can't be that bad. Unless every person I take for a ride it a big fat liar. lol. Give me a SPORTS CAR that's as fast or faster than a C5Z06 that costs less and has a nicer interior.
Note: I said sports car, not muscle car.
