    Hello Willy!
I finally got my car completely de-modded and brought it in to the dealer saturday am and dropped it off.
It actually died as I pulled it through their dealer lot, and would not restart. The electrical system was dead, even though it has never had any electrical issues before...I cannot help but wonder if maybe a tensioner pulley or alternator was making the noise, and it finally locked up and threw the belt.. no battery lights or any other warning lights came on at all before that happened.. I have had my share of bad luck lately. Hope all that is in the past, and i can move on now.

I made the decision to bring it to the dealer for the repair, because i was not sure what the actual problem was. If i was to send the blower off for a rebuild and that didnt fix the issue, then maybe the problem is internal with the engine?? who knows.

Anyhow, maybe I will know something some time this week. Wish me luck.

    Have a blessed day!

    Andy

Wow, thats exactly what i needed to know. It confirms what my LT1 tuner has been telling me. Running 14s it may last longer but i expect to move past that and the 4L80E or even TH400 is something im considering now with all the road miles i put on it.

    Thx for the honest help.

Hi Cardio. A good trans shop should be able to build your 4l60e strong enough for your needs. The faster you go, the more it takes. I've gone through quite a few 4l60e's. My local builder puts all the good stuff in and it lasts about 200 10 second runs before something breaks or needs a freshenup. 2 years ago, I installed a Rossler tranny (3600) to hopefully hold up to low 10 second abuse. So far it's only broken a hardened input shaft.

Hello again. Thx for the reply on the mini ram but i havent made the plunge yet. Need to ask u 'bout the 4L60E. My track times are pretty bad - 14.2 best - and im thinking my 4L60E by BTO is slipping. It has the stronger sun shell and good clutches but not as consistant as when i first installed it. How long will a good 4L60E live? Think now of the 4L80E swap but that has much tighter gearing. Should stay w/4L60E and find a good trans shop?

Hi Cardio. I have been running the miniram for a couple of years. I'm very happy with it. My car is a strip only car. I'm running a 4.35 rear gear. When my car was a street/strip car, the 3.73 was perfect.

Hello 383. I saw your TPIS Ram intake and couldnt help ask what u think of it. Besides my '74 i have a '94 Z28 for a DD and just to thrash with at the strip. So i have questions for your set up. Good intakes for LT1 are hard to find and the TPIS Ram is not cheap. Was it worth it?

What rear gear ratio are u running behind the 4L60E? Ive heard 3.73 are best for the strip.

Hey Willie, do you know where I can find a bulb for my shift light. Can't find one anywhere, it's a glowshift non digital with a single bulb.

    Willie,

I sold my '68 RR so I could buy a vette for the wife and I to play with, It is a 1998 auto and need your advice. I plan on running it at Sonoma on Wednesday here and there and am guessing leave it in drive (3rd) with traction control turned off and leave off a high idle? any suggestions? Thanks, Keith BTW still have the Challenger for Summit stuff.

Hey Willie how goes it. I was wondering if you would ever consider renting out your trailer to me. Maybe 2-3 times this year. Sorry if i'm overstepping my bounds. Kim.
