Gordon I saw you mentioned you had a 383 and went to the LS3. I was curious what were the main reasons. I am considering a 383

Gordonm, my name is Brian. I am doing a t56 install in my 78. I also have the tilton clutch master. On the forum I saw a post of yours that shows your setup. Where did you get the bracket between the firewall and clutch master? Thanks in advance

The rocker arms will not change the lash settings or how they are adjusted. They probably have a different style locking nut than the originals but the clearances and how the yare set is the same. As for the motor what is the date codes on the block vs the heads. Are they close at all? Also my book which is a little old does specify the 487X head used in 72. So check to see if there is an X after the 487. There have been some strange combos over the years but look at the date codes on the heads and the block and see when they were made. I just ran mine at the autoX at englishtown and really thrashed the tires and car. No problems and it was real fun but I ran it real hard. I'll post some pics and video on the forum when I get a chance.
