yeh, a used car, depending on all the details, can for sure be a money pit.

North State Auto over here in the Bay Area has another w/Z07 and competition seats but it's a '15. good lookin' car though, "burnt orange" or whatever that color is called. it's $64,900. i'd need to take a decent chunk out of that price though considering it's that old.

bmw encinitas (of CA) has a Z07 '17 which i'm looking at real hard at the moment. watkins glen grey looks so much better than tiger shark IMO and better than Black too. imo, unless you LOVE cleaning your car, Black is gonna wear you out. half of the dozen cars/suv's i've had in the past 20 years have been Black...Chrome aggravates it too! ..that goes all the way back to my '98 Z28 Camaro which looked like a stealth fighter back then...something Batman would drive/fly. the south FL heat in combo iwth all the rain there seemed to make the Chrome look even worse with the water spotting. on top of that, i pretty much either literally lived right on the beach or spent half of my free time therre. if you haven't experienced it, you'd be amazed at the 'grime' that those wonderfully-smelling ocean breezes leave on your car...and on a Black one...add chrome....yikes!

there have been 2 or 3 c7 zo6's added to CarMax today. not sure for now, but i'll put 'em on the list

i haven't read the forum much at all in the past few years. so how is the "modded" version of c7 z06? i've heard that for $3,000 you can have c7 ZR-1 -level power. that's pretty bad ass to be at 755 at the crank with this weight. my '15 Hellcat weighted 4450 i believe and it was amazing how quick that car is with all that weight. i learned that that is right about where i love to be...at least....in hp numbers. the Hellcat was intoxicating. just the lack of having to wait for buildup of power was amazing. and that's all relevant. a vehicle that's been seriously modified can have 1000 hp, but i could definitely see where it's easy...and fairly cheap...to add hp, but very soon, the issue becomes being able to put down all that power, true?

Mostly i wanted to ask something else: i've seen several ZR1's on autotrader and cars.com that i'm interested in which range from $59,800 at a Vegas dealer with 6139 miles and one owner from Henderson, NV to about $69k. two of them have less than 2 thousand miles and another two or three at 4-5k miles. my question is, how can i best tell if these vehicles have had a bunch of mods that were removed to put back to stock? if i go to a Chev dealer can they pretty much figure that out? i guess it would have to have had a TUNE changed if anything significant at all, right? sorry to be so ignorant, but better to ask somebody than to just take a shot in the dark, so rather than ask the question in a thread, i'm asking you privately...where i can keep it down to just one person laughing at me....lol....unless you forward this mssg to somebody else

hope your Holidays are going well,

hey Bill, haven't spoken to you in awhile. i'm Dave from the SF Bay Area of CA. i couldn't remember exactly your username and searched the member list. hell, it's on page 215! i had no idea CF had so many members!

Anyway, i wanted to ask you something. i'm considering either a C6 ZR1 or a C7 Z06. do YOU have a preference? if so, what's the reason for your choice?
(got cut off for too many characters...a second mssg is after this one)

Nice to read your comments either way.

I have no idea. You might ask JT in the HELP forum. You're not talking about deleting a post that starts a thread, are you? You must delete that post in the first 2 or 3 minutes after it's created.
