Z06 Seat Height Lowering

Same dilemma. I have an HTC. Would never fit with a helmet. I drove a coupe at Spring Mountain with a helmet on. Barely fit but it did fit. Next C8 will be a coupe. More headroom for those of us with long torsos and short legs (the “Corgi” body proportions). Sorry, I can offer no solution for the OP. I too have looked into this before. BTW I am 6’ tall with shoes on.

I’d love to believe 24 models found a way to lower seat height and offer more head room but don’t see how this is possible with the same car shell and same seat design and rail/space limitations.
You can get 4” or so of extra headroom, but it looks like you need a $470 aftermarket bracket https://amtmotorsport.com/products/c...low-seat-mount and your $1k - $xk side mounted aftermarket seat of choice. That’s not the end of the world but it’s annoying to remove the beautiful and practical gt2 seat and have mismatching seats on a potentially near $200k car unless you then also double the price to do the same on passenger seat too.

2024 seats are not lower.
I’ve always found an inconsistency in how Corvette seats feel between cars in the same model year and seat type. This was true with the C6, C7 and definitely C8.
My 2023 C8 seat felt about 1/2” lower than my 2024 Z06 seat. I don’t know the exact difference but at the lowest setting in the 24, my seating position is noticeably higher than before.

I don't have either of these cars yet however I've had success with trimming the bottom of the seat foam in several other cars. In this car the foam will likely have sensors and wires embedded or routed through the bottom of the foam. That shouldn't stop you. If it fails the replacement foam can be replaced. The seats have always remained comfortable. I'm always amazed at the thick cushions in the bottom of American car seats.

I'm on C8 #4 and the seats really do break in some... but I agree w/ K wright, worth a shot at trimming the foam, but doesn't seem like there's much, but it may be enough to make a difference if all you need is 1/4" or 1/2".

Digging up an old thread, has anyone found any tricks to lower the seat? Are the competition seats any lower?
I have a HTC which was, in hindsight, a mistake. I just got bumped to a faster track run ground that requires the top to be up and at 6'2" I have to slouch to fit in the car now. I can only drive for 8-10 minutes at a time before I have to pull off track because my lower back is killing me. I'd be up for an aftermarket seat but unless I'm mistaken they nearly all requires a harness bar, which, again, means I would need the coupe rather than HTC.

I discovered I was mistaken and there are some aftermarket seat options without a harness. Currently looking at a Recaro Podium seat and using the stock 3 point harness. Long term I'd want to go to a harness for my track car but this will at least get me through a season or two.

There are no options other than aftermarket race seats/mounts.

Hey folks,
Are there any kits out there that may lower the C8 Z06 driver's seat 1-2 inches more? I'm 6'1, 180lb, with 1 inch spike hair, with GT2 seat at lowest point, hair is constantly brushing the convertible top. And yes, there are chances that I won't be able to open the convertible top, unfortunately.
Or maybe its time to change my hair style....lol

and have been suggested Ricaro Pro Fi XL or Sparco Evo QRT seat. I’m supposedly next in line at my dealer after a 3 year wait, so need to try to research and test what fits best. I like the look of Tillet carbon seats but I’ll drive this car 2-5 hours away to tracks and don’t want pancake butt and an aching back either.
I can fit without a helmet fine, but for track use will need this seat. I like the stock GT2 seat, and not sure if I’ll just do one race seat or do the passenger as well (only if the look of mismatched seats bothers me). It’s not hard but not easy enough to swap brackets and seats to do it back and forth around track use and road use.
on another note, how are the seat weight sensors delt with removing a seat and avoiding dash bonging? I’m looking at a Range Rover defender 130x for my wife and want to remove a middle seat permanently for easy third row access but have the same issue.

I’ve seen this subject before. I might be wrong but there’s supposedly a trick to get a couple more inches. I just glanced over it. I don’t need it. But like Insaid supposedly a trick with the seat to get a couple more inches

at my last track day, there was a requirement that front seats be matching if there was a second occupant in the vehicle. That may be of no importance for you but I was a bit surprised to see that.

my plan (6”6”) is probably this bracket

That's the bracket I'm going with too - I have my semi-local Recaro dealer bringing in a Podium seat to make sure my but fits, if not they have a few other seats I'll try. I'm just going to drop in a driver seat (the mismatched seats isn't an issue at my track) and call it a day. I'm sure the seat removal will throw some sort of error code and in theory could cause warranty issues but I'm alright throwing the dice on that.
