Default Fasterproms HC LS7 TSP heads, FAST, Custom Cam, LGs

This particular combination was designed for resale through a dealer as an alternative to a ZR1, even though the results will annihilate a modded ZR1. The goal was the MOST DOCILE best DRIVEABILITY combo possible but with a very healthy sounding idle. We could have made much more power with a larger cam but the driveability would not have been just like stock.

The Car is a 2010 LS7 w/ 4k miles and it will be used as a package demo and eventually resold. A few other areas of concern were to address the exhaust valve issues. A big Thank you to Texas Speed for porting and setting up the heads for us! They set us up with Some bronze valve guides and stainless exh valves for best longevity. When they took apart the heads they had the most wear/play in the exh guide they had seen in regards to the mileage. We also wanted to run the Yella terra Roller rockers to cut on wear of the valvetrain, again in the mindset of longevity.

We base lined the car STOCK at 432RWHP and 405RWTQ.
Final results were 574RWHP and 509RWTQ with a very nice lopey idle and mild shake (all of which can be made more mild or aggressive through tuning).

Mod List:
Vararam CAI, Fasterproms ported TB and ported FAST LSX 102, TSP CNC heads milled -.050. Custom Cam 231/247 116LSA .660 lift, Yella terra RRs, LG headers w/CATS, Fasterproms Muffler mod.

Based on our experience here this should be a very solid 136mph+ with a poor driver on a hot day!
Customer called back yesterday to thank us for meeting exactly what he was after and exceeding our power expectations. I drove my bolt-on 07 Z06 yesterday and other than the idle lope the driveability was almost identical.

Nice work Jeremy!!
Is that a FL CTS-V...I am looking into a 09 V to add to the stable. Will be looking to do a tune and pully when I get one.

Jeremy, congrats on new package. But all in respect, and not hacking the threads of the sky is falling exhaust valves, Could you tell to us more.

Because from my own experience, I have take measurement on two 2006 Z06 this summer. Thoses car are a canadian car and both have well over 20 000 km and they didn't show excessive wear on valves guides neither exhaust ot intake. Both engine sees 7000 RPM, Engine oil was changed periodically +-4000km and they used AMSOIL 5w30 or signatures series 0w30, both GM 4718 certification.

Could you tell us more on the technics involved in measurement, and the results obtains. Production specs are (0.001''0.0024'') intake and exhaust wear limits are around (0.0037'') Just informative for who reads those post and didn't know.

If exhaust valves, and valves guides are the main culprit of this engine, why GM enginer, kept the same rockers, same sodium filled exhaust valves and same guides materials who are powder metal, in my senses better than bronze, since 2006. I maybe wrong.

Just my 2 cents , Thank you
Sebastien

Also the LS9 engine who sees probably not less heats in the combustion process than the LS7, have the ti intake 2.16 valves, and 1.59 holloow steem sodium filled exhaust valves.
Strange ....

Taking this car to the track tonight to see what we can do on the street tires. Not expecting anything crazy, but maybe I can get a 10.99 out of it on the INVO's. Drag radials will come soon.....

May I ask what "MAY" be a stupid question but why did the engine baseline at such low numbers? Or am I missing something?

Great numbers on the car Jeremy. I was waiting for this post when you told me the plans for the car while you were doing my IM/TB.

My car is nuts on the top end now.
