Neither. Get a 427 Vert while you still can ("now" is still possible if you hurry). Keep it for for 2-3 years, enjoying the hell out of it, until they get the new generation bugs out of the C7, and then get one of those. Following this strategy avoids the wait for the C7 and saves $ over the ZR1 while getting a new car.
That's what I would do if I were in a position to get a new Vette now. Most important reason is that life is too short to spend time waiting for things, especially when there is an acceptable way to avoid the wait.

Very well said and idk I like the c7 and I'd deff wait to buy a 2015 so I know of or any issues on the c7!!! But on the other hand the ZR1 is so badazz and who knows if they will make a better one then that with the c7 ! It's a tough call I feel... And I'm not a fan of the 427 vert simply because I don't like verts I love my targa and that's prob the biggest reason y I am questioning a c7 over the ZR1..!!!!

New C7 and forget all this stuff about having to wait a year until the bugs are worked out. They make or try to make improvements each year. If you followed the advice to wait until the bugs are worked out you would never buy a new car.
You would spend all your time waiting.
Anyhow get the C7.

It would depend on how you plan to use the car. Do a lot of track time then the ZR1. Drive it like most vettes are driven then I would wait for the C7 and wouldn't worry about the new car shake-out. I would wait until the dealer mark-up goes off but after that get the C7. If you worry about early model problems get an extended warrenty. Just what I would do if I could do it, but a C7 is far into my future since my C6 is only a year old.

Melting Slicks
Test drive them both and you should know afterwards which car is for you...that being said not sure how difficult it would be to get a test drive in those cars?

Another vote for the ZR1. Keep it until you see what the future brings to the C7 platform. You might never see a SC Corvette from the factory again.
