And finally the right hand drive Z is home
Hi
At last I've got the Z home. It was ready a few weeks ago but we couldn't get it until yesterday.
We did a 475 mile drive home and it was excellent. Well the wife drove it more than I did but hey it's great to follow a sexy Vette.
The car drives wonderfully it really is the best drivers car. The power is brutal but yet it can be refined. The seating position is excellent and the gear shifter (MGW) sits perfectly.
The right hand drive steering rack is superb and the brakes are awesome.
Exhaust is a bit quiet so I fitted the Sunset orange car2u commander tonight and that's helped. Eventually the Akraprovic will go on.
Anyway I am very very happy and my first ever drive in a Vette or Z06 was awesome.

Who did the conversion & was it done in Australia? Looks really good, like it rolled out of the factory like that . We have a couple of companies like Bunce here in NZ that do RHD conversions & they do quite a few cars for Australian customers.
NZ has a Special Interest Vehicle permit that can be obtained for later model Vettes & it allows us to keep them LHD... Is it correct that Aussie doesn't have anything similar so they all have to be converted?
Anyway... very nice.

Performax in QLD did the conversion.
I'm afraid all newer cars have to be right hand drive!!

And ya cannot go wrong with JSB!! Ask me how I know this....
What did you do about the TPMS?? Did it work o.k. without the sensors??? No limp mode?
Looks great. I'm sure your very happy to have it home finally. How long has it taken? You came over here and bought the car and shipped it back down under, correct?
awesome...looks like it was factory spec'd...

Congratulations on your new Z06 JSB is a great color. I'm sure it commands alot of attention over there. Nice looking car, even though the steering wheel is on the wrong side

I noticed that the parking brake is still on the right hand side. I figured that would have been moved to the left side. Does it not get in the way while you shift?

Wow, turned out beautiful!! BIG congrats.
Had a chance to 'test' it, as designed?
How's it been recieved, publically?
Would imagine it's so unique there aren't may places you can go it wouldn't be a huge hit.
BTW, JSB.
What's not to like about that alone on TOP of being a genuine Z06?

You went through a lot of work and coin for this project, but now you have a fantastic car in the right color to enjoy!

The TPMS issue is another Aussie friend who has that problem.
The car was purchased in August, it arrived in Aus in early October. The conversion start date was delayed until the beginning of January and that took approx 5 weeks. So its been a worth while wait.
Igot the car from Maher Chev in Florida and bought it off the pics only - bit of a risk but it was a good price, low miles and the spec I wanted.

Only had chance to give the throttle a little squirt so far Had the HUD showing 0.6G which is cool.
The car is received extremely well, lots of on the highway and folk are curious about the engine and specs of the car.
My mate with a GT5000 had a go and he said the power and response is much more punchy than the pony
Still got to get rego plates on the car which I hope to do on Wednesday then I can legally drive it more.
