Default Bluetooth Kit for 2005-13 C6

Well I just received my hopefully solution to having bluetooth intergrated into my 07 corvette. I received ISimple ISGM655 yesterday and will try to install myself when the weather warm up some because we know cold and plastic doesn't work together, its easy for tabs and parts to break or break off. Here are some pictures of the kit.

Drill Bit 1/4
Wrench 7mm
Extension 3/8 4"
Socket 10mm
Ratchet 3/8
Screwdriver Phillip & Flat Tip
Allen Set (MGW Shifter)
Ratchet 1/4
Socket 7mm
extension 1/4 4"
Tape 3M Industrial Strength
Safety Glasses
Flashlight

Safety is number one, you assumes all risk for your action, this is how I did it. Handbrake should be set already. Take your time.

Important: Before you disconnect the battery make sure the radio is set for FM not XM then disconnect the battery on the positive side.

This install is for GM navigational radio, open the console and remove the four phillip screw to the console top, once remove replace the screw in the top and put aside.

Remove the two plastic knock off or cover to remove two screws using 1/4 ratchet, extension and 7mm socket.

Pull straight up on the bottom edge of the hand brake boot to get it loose. You will see two 7mm screws, go ahead and remove, then gentley pull up on both side and it should start to come loose, the part of the console on the passenger side will come loose from the main piece.

Remove the shifter ****, unplug the Hazard switch, the cigarette lighter, heater switches and the Aux power then you should be able to turn the console sideway and lay to the side with traction control still hook up.

Using the 1/4 ratchet with extension and 7mm socket to remove the screws from the air condition control first then pull it forward.

Now remove the screws from the radio, then with a slight pull on the radio it should come loose.

This is what you should see.

With the new cable in hand(a figure of speech) go ahead and unplug the two big plugs (The blue plug and the black plug) and set aside. Plug in the cable that came in the kit to the corresponding plugs. Now this free spot in the back of the firewall is where I mounted the gateway from the kit.

Apply the 3M tape to the Gateway.

Here is a closeup of the spot

If you use this location this is how it should be mounted if you mount it straight up the DIN plug will keep falling out so it shall be sideway like I have it. Make sure you put usb plug through the usb bracket before you put the radio back in or you will be sorry like me.

Putting it back together. Radio first, no screws, we need to make sure it work.

Air condition next, no screws.

Reconnect the battery. The radio should come on in FM like in the photo.

Then press XM tab and your screen should say "DEV INIT".

and "NO PHONE"

Go to your cell phone, make bluetooth is turn on.

Do the pairing per your cell phone instruction.

You might see this screen(STREAMING).

or this screen saying ready. When the radio had BT on the screen press and hold button 6, it will label it BT as in the picture. You are now Bluetooth ready to make a call. Button 1 answer or ends a call, button 3 setting make sure the microphone volume is set between 8 and 10.

Here is where I put my reset button, be careful using the 1/4 drill bit and drill, make sure no wire are where you are drilling and take your time the rewards will pay off.

When I found that usb bracket I will install it on the driver side above my Escort Live where it is within reach. This will get you started.

Install is pretty simple

one correction

The kit will only work with 2005-2010 as the radios slightly changed in 2011-13 for wiring only.

Not a issue, I was just reading off the back of the box where it said 05-13 but that's fine I think 10 and up already have bluetooth.

Do you have to pull the radio out to install it?

Is your C6 equipped with SAT radio? My 07 C6 is non Nav, and non Bose. I think your instructions will tell you to go to GM and have them activate the inactive XM port. After looking at me like I was crazy, they put the computer on my car. They stated that there was no option on the menu to do what I wanted. If your situation is the same as mine, I am very interested to know if your install it successful. Please post your results, Thanks

Really? that seems strange, to plug in a wire to get a wireless connection.

I'm interested in hearing about your install. I have a 2005 and put in an aux jack that is connected to sat but would like Bluetooth.

Just purchased the same kit. Where do you plan to put the aux,USB and microphone? I'm thinking of putting USB in glove box (gets too hot in center console and might over heat iPod or phone) aux some where on the dash maybe side of radio next to passengers side or center console. microphone on A pillar.

Well its a sunny day here in Augusta, GA, so I'm going to attempt this install. My 07 has an 08 navigation unit, and its a 6 speed. My intention are to take some pictures and tell you the mistakes I made so your installation will be pain free. Later

Well good news, it works. Had to call Tech Support to get it from streaming to BT, made some calls and receives some, you don't have to touch the phone seem like it can be control from the navigation screen with the presets. Will upload some pictures after I figure out where to put the reset button, the usb port and the microphone probadly in the A pillar with the mic from the navigation. Back to the drawing board.
