Single CD player acting up - help!
I need your help - My 2005 C-6, Vert is experiencing some problems with the CD player - a Single CD player coupled with the factory NAV system. When inserting a CD it sometimes comes back with a "No - CD inserted" message - after re-inserting it one or more times it works. Seems to be getting worse as time goes on - this is a 12,500 mile, Southern California based auto - so sitting may be contributing to the problem?? I do not want a dealer near my car - ideas, reccomendations?

Mine does the same thing. Been doing it since I've had it (little over a year) and has not gotten any worse. I don't play CD's very much so I just live with it.

Your CD Lens may need cleaning.
CD lens cleaners from Wal Mart are about 15 bucks. It may take several cleanings to remedy.
A lens is an optical device with perfect or approximate axial symmetry which transmits and refracts light. Dust hinders refractions.

The same thing happens to me periodically. My issues are that if I take a hard turn, the CD stops playing for a couple of seconds before starting again. I also have some periodic problems with the NAV DVD. It will give me a INSERT NAV DVD notice on the screen.
My "solution" is to remove the CD and DVD and put the nozzle of my vacuum cleaner against each of the slots and "suck" out whatever dust has settled inside. Try it, it might work for you.
