My 1997 C5 start indling rough and the check engine light came on. I got some weird code: QC CODE 424111 I couldn't find anything to help me.
I also had a code 10-PCM P0410

Can someone please help this confused individual?

Not sure if this is the problem, but on a couple of other GM cars I had, when this happened, it was usually the MAF sensor or bad O2 sensor. Replaced it and life was good again. However I am sure someone else on here with a bit more knowledge of the specific codes could shed a bit more light on this.

The 0410 is;

An AIR pump is used on this vehicle to lower tail pipe emissions on start-up. The PCM supplies a ground to the AIR pump relay, which energizes the AIR pump.

The PCM monitors the HO2S voltages to diagnose the AIR system.

During the AIR test, the PCM activates the AIR pump during closed loop operation. When the AIR is activated, the PCM monitors the HO2S voltages and short term fuel trim values for both banks of the engine. If the AIR system is operating properly, the HO2S voltages should go low and the short term fuel trim should go high.

If the PCM determines that the HO2S voltages for both banks did not respond as expected during the tests, DTC P0410 sets. If only one sensor responded, the PCM sets either a DTC P1415 or P1416 to indicate on which bank the AIR system is inoperative.

Nothing on the QC 424111
Can't find anything on this - no codes matches this - anywhere.

The check engine ligt stays on, idles rough, and I got the message QC CODE 424111 when I held the option button in getting ready to push the fule button to get the codes out. I never saw that code before so I thought it might be related to the check engine and the rough idling, heck it just runs rough not just at idling.

Check the bridge by the intake to make sure it is on all the way, it does come loose over time, has happen to me and some other owners. :cheers:

:confused: Never heard of that code comiong up, especially the way you describe, let us know when you get it fixed what it was.
And yes, I agree with the other forum member, it sounds like maybe your airbridge or MAF sensor came loose and the air is bypassing the MAF.

Would the QC Code stand for Quick Code, if so what does it do. I held the "Option" button in again (byitself) it poped up the code "QC CODE 424111"
. I then pushed another button and it was going to let me change the code. :confused:
Anyway I checked everthing under the hood and everything was tight and in place. Although I never new the fuel pressure regulator to "peck". Is that normal?? At least I thought it was the fuel pressure regulator. The check engine light is off now but it's still running rough.

I was messing around last week and I got the QC code to come up. I dont know what the purpose of the code is, but qc stands for Quick Configure . I think I got to it by going to options until blank screen then pressing options and guages or reset and guages at the same time (if it doesn't work play around until you get the right combo). Anyways I accidentally reset the code, luckily I remembered what it was prior and reset it to the original. I hope this helps you out somewhat. :flag

Is it idling rough at a constant RPM or does the RPM fluctuate? My check engine light comes on with lean codes and my RPM vary on three speeds: 1100, 750, and 400. Relean does't work. My car is in the shop and the only possible problem is a small hole in one of my cats.

Do you smell raw gas? I had this happen on my 97 years ago. It was traced to a bad fuel injector wire that was shorting out. Caused a plug to foul and then rough idle, check engine, etc. Tech found the problem by accident poking around. Try jiggling wires while engine is running. :cheers:

With the luck I'm having I'll end up grabbing a plug wire! :crazy:

Where is the fuel filter located at, just rembered that the wife ran it on reserve fuel and it started acting up after that.

The IPC display, the 20-character, vacuum florescent screen above the steering column that says "Corvette by Chevrolet" every time you turn on the key is a powerful device.

DIY Service Techs are going to be most interested in the LPG’s ability to show diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) for all the modules that transmit them.

The "diagnostic display" mode is entered with the following Procedure: Page 8-500

1) Turn on the ignition but don't start the engine.
2) Press the "reset" button to turn off any warning messages
3) Press and hold "options" and
4) While holding "options", press "fuel" four times within a 10-Second period.

Initially, the on-board diagnostics go into the "automatic" mode, which shows each module's DTCs in a

For each module, all DTCs will be displayed. If none are present in a module, you will see "no more codes" on the ICP display.
There are two kinds of DTCs, "Current" and "History," designated with a letter suffix, "C" or "H". A current code indicates that the malfunction is present in the system whose module is displaying data. A history code indicates a problem existed in that module sometime in the last 40 or 50 ignition cycles. When not accompanied by a current code of the same number, it is possible it's evidence of a previous problem. Now solved, that was not removed by clearing codes. More likely is that a history code indicates an intermittent malfunction.

"Intermittent" are the most challenging DTCs. An intermittent may have happened only once, may have happened more than once but is inconsistent in its appearance or may be happening on a regular basis but not at the time the IPC is displaying codes. History codes can also be caused by a current malfunction in a system that is not Operating at the time DTCs are displayed. An example is the rear window defogger, which doesn't operate until the BCM detects engine rpm. For history codes set by a system that does not operate with the key on and engine off, a special diagnostic tool called a "scan tester is necessary to properly diagnose the malfunction.

Once the IPC has displayed all 11 modules, the system goes into the manual mode, which allows selection of each module, using combinations of DIC buttons. The manual mode can also be entered at any time during the automatic sequence by pressing any button except "E/M". Once the IPC displays "manual diagnostics", you may select a particular module by pressing the options button to go forward or the "trip" button to go back. Once a system is selected and a DTC is displayed, if more than one are present; press "gages" To move forward or "fuel" to go back. To exit the diagnostic mode at any time, press E/M". If you want to erase or "clear" codes, press "reset". Clearing a code does not repair a problem. You are simply erasing the evidence of it in the module's memory.
