Default Clutch bleed tool....don't make the same mistake I did...see inside

All,

I made this a day or so ago about some clutch problems: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zerothread?id=624458

Well, it turns out that a while back when I did a clutch bleed and I didn't get the bleed screw tight enough. Getting to the bleed screw is a royal-friggin-pain-in-the-**** and I couldn't tell if it was tight or not....turns out it wasn't. At the time I made a "custom" tool but apparently it didn't work as well as planned due to its fit.

So, pulled everything out this morning and perfected the tool.....it was very apparent that it was loose once I got the tool fitting better. Here is what the tool looks like installed....its just a box end 7/16 wrench that I have modified with my propane torch:

Hope this helps someone not make the same mistake....may double sure its tight.

Lawman,

The clutch bleed screw is located where the torque tube meets up with the engine. You have to remove the exhaust and torque tube cover plate...a major PITA.

Here are some good pics: http://www.97vette.com/howto/clutchbleed/index.html

This might be avoided if we just replace the fluid every other month in the reservoir. If we do that, we might not ever have to bleed to thing. :yesnod:
