gm should do something about the abs situation. some of these modules don`t work but a few months. parts for these cars are not cracked up to be what they should.i know i would not buy another g m car.

GM didn't make many of them, and the early ones have not been produced for quite a while. GM will NEVER EVER make these again-get over it.

Anyone have a schematic of a 98/99 module or a bad one they plan to throw away. I could pull it open to see if relays can be changed. Worst I can do is break it and throw it away for you.

Doubt you'll find an internal schematic, especially since GM didn't make many of them. If it were just the relays, the outfits that fix the later ones would most likely fix them. I'm guessing a custom ASIC or some other custom (unlabeled) chip is puking making it tough to source the part.
The chip could be an EPROM with a program on it and distinct code only the mfg could break. That's why I thought someone might have one to throw away. This way no risk to open and look. |

here is what i know, there is only 1 part that will work in a 1998-2000 front mounted in front of the engine to the lft in front of the power steering pully. also you have to have active handleing. you have to have 4 wheel abs, 4 sencors. the module hast to # 09376711 the new obsilete # is 19244084 the pump # is 10417038. the 5 dealers around here all say the same thing, no other # will work. i have heard that # 0936061 new #19244085 is a good # but every dealer ship i have been to says the same thing. they could be good #`s i don`t know. i wish someone could lift their hood and put the orignal #`s for the 1998 with automatic transmission, front mounted, with active handleing, and 4 wheel abs 4 sencors . this mite help me clear this 2 year nite mare up. my abs unit was stolen before i got the car so i have to go to the deaers around here for the part #`s. thanks!!!!!!!!!!

go to bthe conector find # 19 wire if it is white you have the wrong module if it is lt blue you have the rite # which is 09276711. if you have a white wire you need #9367071.

Bill, from what you have above, that tells me that the difference between the modules should be whether it has JL4 or not. Active Handling. I gave the VIN to both dealers I bought the EBCM's from and they both said I needed the EBCM 09376711. After decoding the VIN, the only way that I can see that they can deduce that it is a JL4 or not is by where in the sequence it was built. In my case, it was the 17,339th car built in 1999. They keep saying that I have active brake control, which I think is wrong. If they really mean Active handling, I don't have that either since I don't have JL4 RPO code. I will get a look at the wiring when I get home from work. Mine should match up with the non JL4 pinout.
Per pin 21 above: If you have JL4, I assume you have a Yaw Rate Sensor. I have the Yaw rate bias code. Does that mean I have JL4? |

there are five or six lite blue wires in that abs connector if that #19 wire is lite blue you have a jl4 car no question that means possitively you have active handleing. if that wire is white you have a non active handling car. i need a module that is the same number you have, module number 09276711 up dated number 19244084. the pump number is1417038.

if you have the rite number unit in there the wrong codes won`t show up on the scanner. believe me if you got the rite parts it will work rite.
