to answer your qurestion seriously....nothing bad will happen only that if u get a flat your screwed. But any tire will perform better than the stock goodyear runflats

Yes, There is a warning that will appear. I think it's something like replace tires with Goodyear EMT's for original crappy ride...... :jester :jester

When i put my non run flats on, the emergeny eject seats kept throwing me from the car. :lolg: :lolg: :lolg: :lolg:
No.... there are no codes associated with changing tires, unless you change the sizes by more than an inch or so. Codes will only appear if you dont reinstall the sensonrs

Buy some new wheels to go with your non-runflat tires. Keep your runflats so if you have a flat you can get someone to pick up and bring one of your old wheels and tires to you. Be sure to keep a cell phone with you. :auto:

I don't think anything bad will happen. I'm still using runflats until they need replaced, but from what I've read here, everyone who has changed are a lot happier with the ride. I think your DIC will function normally as long as you continue to use the wheel sensors and stay with the same size tires. Your biggest problem as others have said, is that if you get a flat you won't be able to continue driving the car without possibly ruining the tire, wheel, and who knows what else.

I've run non run-flats for 3 years and 14,000 mi. No bid deal, it would be the same if you had a Z-06. I have a couple of tire repair kits, a air pump, a couple of bottles of flat tire sealer just in case I can't seal with the plug kit and I'm desparate and don't mind ruining a sensor.
I don't even think about it anymore.

When I start a drive (w/o runflats) I check all the tire pressures before I get too far from home, or work or wherever. If one goes flat from a roadhazard, it's roadservice time and the rollback. No different than removing your spare for weight reduction in a Camaro, etc. And no, I didn't tell the computer I changed tires. What she doesn't know...

Warnings only come up if you put ricer stuff on your 'vette :jester
The car doesn't know you dont have runflats, just what the air pressure is. Get some good tires and throw a can of fix-a-flat in the back for emergencies.

You'll save about a hundred dollars a tire. The savings should more than pay for a tow in the unlikely event of a flat.

You will only get a warning message if you choose not to use the pressure sensors which are installed in the wheels. There's no reason you can't continue to use the sensors when switching to non runflat tires.
If for whatever reason you choose not to use the pressure sensors, you will probably get a "service tire mon, sys." message every time you start the car. Press the reset button and go.

You can use non-run flats, BUT, depending on the type of belt in the tire (heavy steel mesh), your tire pressure sensors MAY not work. They could shield the radio signal from your tire pressure sensors. IF this happens, you will get messages from your DIC. There is a technical bulletin out from GM on this.
But, without runflats, you don't need your tire pressure sensors (Z06s don't have them), you will be able to tell you have a flat.
NOW, if it is a small hole and you can see it and get to it to plug it (temporary) and you better have pliers to pull out any nails, a tire plug kit, and a compressor, you can fix it. Without a jack there is very little room to work under a C5. If it is a large tear in tire or you can't get to it, it's flatbed time.

1. the car is quiter now, RF are noisy tires.
2. Did the warning message come on?? YES I just reprogramed the DIC for the new tires
3. Car has much much better ride comfort and far better traction
4. What happens if I get a flat out on the road? A. not likly to happen, only had one flat in 34 years of driving and B. if I do I call AAA on the cell phone.
To reprogram the DIC with new pressor sensors go to: https://www.corvetteforum.com/techti...D=77&TopicID=1
Good luck
