Heres pics from what I did with it in the mazda.
In my case I had to cover it. The mazdaspeed6 dash trim doesn't match up with the single din kit which is mainly used in non speed6's. So I covered all in this so you didnt see the difference in finish.

Arctic this stuff is not made to prevent rock chips. I have it on my hood and a couple of rocks have gone right through it. Yes it will stop the small stuff but large rocks will tear it easily. Paint protection film is the only option for preventing rock chips... not clear vinyl as you refered to it. I have been installing clear bras for 8 years now. The 3M carbon fiber vinyl looks nice but its for looks only.

A guy in our car club used it on the interior of his C4 and it really turned out looking pretty good!

We use an 8mil thickness film for clear applications...and it's generally referred to as clear vinyl. Why pick apart my words because you have 8 years of experience puttin on vinyl...who cares? Shall we compare resumes now?

The "wraps" will no doubt protect your paint better than just some plain ole wax or nothing at all. From rocks or whatever.

I would LOVE to see a rear lower facia done with this stuff, It would be a lot cheaper than paint, and you can remove it if you want to go back to the stock look, Anyone have a pic of this????

This is from another thread....
Interesting work. I just painted my rear bumper adding the carbon pattern to the lower portion. From a distance, it appears solid black. When you get closer you can see the pattern. I have also done my side coves, but I added "old school" flames and sprayed candy apple red over all the pattern.

This was not a vinyl wrap, it was painted. I talked to teh owner and he did it with two different shades of paint and used cabinet shelf liner to get teh pattern.

It may be possible to stretch that vinyl in the holes of the rear. If I didnt a black vette I'd do it hands down.
