I have been told that my 13 year old new looking original tires need to be replaced.

I am thinking about Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus ZP tires. Run flats. I have had always good experience with any Michelin tires that I have bought in the past-especially my experience buying Michelin high performance motorcycle road tires.

Are these tires a good choice?What have been your experience with these tires? I am looking for run flats that handle and perform better than the OEMs and more reasonable in price. Tirerack shows these Michelins at 1060.00 for four.

I have them on my C-5. They're OK, but, at least in my opinion, not end-all, be-all tire that some people claim them to be. They ride a little smoother than the OE GoodYears, but personally, I think the GoodYears had a better dry grip.

Michelin Pilot Super Sports are great tires. Grip like glue and are super quite.

Not sure about the Run Flats though. Don't have em and never will. Although great when experiencing a flat, they will always be sub-par in the handling and ride category.

My first replacement for the OEM Goodyears was the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus ZPs.

They were a great tire and come highly recommended.

FWIW, this time around my wallet said the MPSASPZPs were not in the budget, so I got Nitto NT555 NON-runflat. I've been pleased with them so far.

I had these tires installed on my 98 two years ago after two sets of the Goodyears. The Michelin's have been the best tire that has ever been on the car. Good price, quiet, smooth riding and perform well in wet or dry conditions.

I have the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus........but non-runflats.

Very pleased with them.

i lived with the Mich. run-flats for 6 mos. and traded them in at Discount Tire for Kumho non-run flat. much nicer ride and still gives good handling. just get a AAA membership, can of slime and a portable air compressor

I love mine! Much smoother ride than the OEM GoodYear tires. The Michelin AS Plus ZP (Zero Pressure) are "run flats", but they're 50 mile at 50 mph vs GoodYear which I believe are 200 mile run flats...You still get a "run flat" tire, but because it's a 50 miles vs. 200, ride quality is much improved.

I whole heartedly agree! These are the best and they wear much better, ride better than run flats. I won't buy anything different. Also, guess what the C-7 comes with? It isn't Goodyear's!

That's cheap, the two Michelin Pilot Super Sport I'm ordering off Tire Rack are $441 each Thankfully, I only need two of them.

The ones your looking at come standard on the ZR1. If they are good enough for the ZR1, I'm sure they'll be a good tire for you two

Our C5 came with the Michelin Pilot A/S Sport run flats. I can't speak to any differences with the + model or the non run flat model.

The A/S run flats were a little loud and actually skittish in high G turns. Always felt like they were about to break loose, especially if there were even slight ridges in the pavement mid corner.

After reading tons of reviews I decided to go with the Pilot Super Sports but moved up to 18/19" wheels in the process. These tires are the replacements for the PS2 tires. Quieter, softer, better mileage, better stick, and cheaper too.

Whole new car by every measure. Handling and ride was just OK before the new tires. Now much quieter, much softer ride. Also, far superior grip. Happily carrying the pump, goo can, and flat kit repair kit along with the AAA 100 mile tow package. I've only had one actual flat tire in the last 30 years. I don't count slow leaks which I've had 4 or 5 of in the same time span because they aren't a problem.

By far, the most rewarding mod I've made. I recommend it to everyone and would do it again in a heartbeat. The Hotckis Sways are much happier with these tires too.

Good luck in your search. I know there are other make tires that can provide about the same level of upgrade.

I didn't like them either. They came with my car, I couldn't wait to replace them with BFGoodrich KDW 2s

I put the same tires on my 98's rear wheels. They hook-up MUCH better than the tires that were already there.
Going to try the Michelin Super Sports on my 02's rear wheels. The Super Sports cost a good deal more than the KDWs but the Super Sports have a better review on Tire Rack.

If your originals looked new as mine did, why spend 1200-1500 or more for tires and new TPMS's if you do not drive the car a lot. Buy non-run flats in A/S format; buy your insurance's towing package ($12 or so a year) or a SLIMEAIR Pack. You will have a nice ride and when it's under 50 degrees, tires that will behave. You can buy Generals, BF Goodrich, Continentals, etc for half the price.

I had Goodyears and replaced them with Michelin Pilot Sport a/s runflats. They are a great tire, BUT they are so much quieter than the Goodyears that now I can hear my Wife talking to me.

I went from GY run-flats to the Michelin run-flats. It was like getting a new car.

These are the tires that were on my 04 when I bought it. I have been very pleased with the quiet ride and excellent handling.

Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus ZP tires are the way to go.
The Pilot Super Sports are the replacements for the PS2's but they are "warm weather" tires, if you plan any winter driving the A/S is what you want.
