Default Widebody Rear Fenders and New Hood??

Well so far it's already been a crazy year with all kind's of projects going on. I've been approached several times about making some wider rear fenders for the C5 and also another hood. Everything will be made from scratch (OEM parts) For the hood I have been messaged LOTS of times about getting one built similar to this one

Now the rear fenders, well I think it's pretty straight forward. We can add the flare and make them as wide as we like and whatever shape we like, I think it would be pretty easy. The hood would be a bit more complicated.

I always get asked to make these part's so we can have some lower cost alternatives. I would say a fender set would be $550-600. We could also make the rear fenders in carbon and they would run anywhere from $750-800. The hood would be anywhere from $750-850 (in carbon)

Anyway just thought I would post up and see what the general consensus is on this

Don't tease about the rear fenders, that would be a cruel joke! What did you have in mind for the shape? Many are already torn between the TPE style (smooth no lines) or the L5's (Hard line, not flared out as much as TPE) I like them both, but if I had to choose it would be the L5's.

Another question...I believe both kits come with an extended inner liner for the fender and wheel adapters included in the price. Will this be the case with your fenders? Also, realistically, what type of time frame are you shooting for...6 months, 8 months, 1 year before completion and delivery???

thanks Z

Lol, sorry but not trying to tease you. As far as shape, I would do what I always do. We could start on them with one shape and change them to whatever we like. As far as fender liners, it might be something we can do, I would have to look into it, now adapters im not so sure. The timeframe depends on when we start. Generally the rule is 4-5 months start to finish, however with everything we got going on right now it could be a bit longer.

Default Fenders and Hood

Wide fenders definatly. I like the smooth loop like the TPE ones. IMHO the rigid flare on the L5's makes it look kinda cheezy. I've been looking at getting a set for myself but 900 plus shipping is a bit much for right now. Oh, I was thinking of having a different style rear fender as well with the wide body. Think of having a scoop in the back like front but alittle smaller that it's lines will run with the caravaggio rear spoiler. The lines would make it look natural. I'll try to post a pic of what I mean. As for a hood...i love mine, but if there was a hood for a top mounted twin turbo like the Halltech Stinger/ACP hood then that would be cool. I always though about combining mine with that one. I have a MCM CF hood now. But having it a high rise as well would be cool. So in the end I guess the hood you just made with the front stinger intakes for the TT would be sweet...but maybe too busy. If the center extractor was further forward like the tigershark hood the lines could flow into the twin intakes up front. Just throwing that out there.

I would not go for a scope in the rear. I like the TPE flares but the cost is a little rich. Also maybe we can incorporate the flares to eliminate adding them later and eliminate that add on look.

Hood look OK but as U can see from my avatar I go for the retro look .

Keep up the good work!!!

I'm all ready to buy your new rear fascia when it starts production, and the rear flares are on my wishlist, right above a new hood. You already know my preferences for the fascia, basically a SW copy, with a taller lip. Flares should be a smooth transition, because the C5 is all about curves, IMO. I've long admired the lines of the TS hood. It places the scoop farther forward, and doesn't have any unneccesary strakes/slots/etc. IMO, everything you restyle to accesorize the C5 should be smooth, and curvy.

I'd be all over the rear flares for that price!

I can't justify the other companies prices for them and it would help me with my wheel choice.

Plus you have to remember that you still have to have them prepped, fitted and painted.

I look forward to what you come up with.

that hood style has always been one of my favorites but is very costly. a version from you would be great.

i already have L5s so i'm not in that market but another active forum vendor selling them would most certianly be welcome.

My vote is to style the rear fenders like the L5's.

I like the TPE style flares. How about making them more subtle than the TPE or the L5? Not quite ACP subtle, perhaps a 1" flare instead of a 2".

Hey Pete, it seems like some of us will like the TPE style setup and others the L5 look...maybe you can do like you did with the splitter and make two different styles to appease both sides???
