    Biography
This is my first corvette and it's been a blast. Purchased in 2005 with no mods but needing lots of TLC. I have the tools and the know-how and I DO ALL MY OWN WORK (except the paint job and transmission rebuild). Like any 25+ year old car, I've had just about everything apart (at least once) and I've done just about any repair imaginable except an engine rebuild but that is probably coming in the next few years. Got a question about a repair - just send me a PM.

    Hey Dan
I replied to an old post of yours. I just discovered how to message you so I'm resending here.

This was your post dealing with a hard to move heat slider lever. I'm having the same problem and would like to know more about exactly where you lubricated to solve the problem.

I just finished replacing the heater core in my '85 and adding new plastic clips to the control rod ends for the heater door.

I have family in North Bay. My dad is retired from the air force. I live in the Kingston area.

    Hoping you see this msg.

    Cheers

    Brad

Remove the little hat-shaped cerclip and the one screw that holds the cable, then pull the cable out where you can access it. I lubricated that end of the cable first, which helped a little and then I sprayed some WD-40 through the slit where the lever goes into the control head and voila...things started sliding nicely. Nothing broken just have to re-assemble but I'll do that tomorrow.
