Default Which Carb/Headers for a ZZ4

Hey Guys, just purchased a ZZ4/355-405 and trying to decide on which carb and headers to go with. Thinking of using a quickfuel ss 680. Not sure yet on the headers. Thanks for the feedback.

I'm using my Qjet and my Dynomax headers from my L-48.

There are mods you will have to make (mostly for standard shift) to use the ZZ4 but they're all easy.

Thanks Bob, I am aware of the water pump mods, anything else I should know about? Also I am looking for info on the Quick Fuel SS-680-VS carb but haven't found any info here yet. Are the Dynomax headers the shortys?

If you want to use the 1969 style factory sidepipes, you can use Hedman Hedder 68280. If you need the header to be compatible with A.I.R and emission controls, the same header is sold as part 68281.

This header comes doesn't come with D shapped ports, but with a grinder, you can easily enlarge the header flange holes to nicely match up with your D ports.

The ZZ4 heads have exhaust openings that are about 0.1 inches (?) taller than stock. The header collector will still clear the frame. nevertheless fit unt ea

ive got hooker side pipes and love them, however theyre not for everyone, Stahl makes some pretty good headers, along with hooker, hedmans are supposed to be alright too and cheaper than most. just get on summit, theyve got a crap load of headers to choose from.

I've got Hooker Super/Comp ceramic coated headers on the ZZ4 in my 1980. They've been installed for 8 years and no problems.

Mine is a 77 auto- still no word on the Quick Fuel Carbs ???? Sounds like it is preference on both carb and headers.
Appreciate all your feedback.

Long tubes from my old RHS heads, they fit fine.
