It's more about loosing the weight of the cast iron head and maybe a little more hp when I ran the 8.0 it had a 3310 Holley on it no spacer and the hood was right on top of the carb also I was using...

I use a hurst shifter bolts to transmission only and welded brackets for the 4 speed tranny mount just a couple of pieces of angle iron and drilled holes for the bolts

I am afraid to put slicks on mine for this reason! with nearly 600 torque and a manual I am sure some day ill find the limits not looking forward to that day
