I repainted mine black and kept the ribs raw...

I repainted mine black and kept the ribs raw aluminum on my L82 '78.
on my '75 L48, I have some M/T covers that I polished up and painted the middle of the ribs with black and they look fabulous.

yep, looks like someone changed the lid and added some chrome highlights. (and removed the smog pump which is common)

the rubber lines at the fuel tank to the hard lines degrade. pull the taillights on the passenger side after a drive and see if you see any signs of fuel. you'll have to drop the tank a few inches...

Reflectix by far. lay it down with some spray adhesive and it moulds around curves very easily and well. plus it will keep things cool as it is a good insulator
