Correct. The carb was installed in St. Louis, so it can have a date after, the same or before the engine's ass'y date.

A carb dated 2-6 weeks before car assembly date would be typical.

Gross HP numbers are not available for 1972 I believe. GM did not specify a different rating for California engines AFAIK.

The 'smog crap' took an extra 1 HP to drive as compared to non-AIR cars.
