Can someone help with a posative ID on these exhaust ram horns I have.
Both with #3932461 on them, one with a RH13 under the number & the other with RH5. Neither have holes for AIR.

I have an old vette mag somewhere in my boxes :rolleyes: that tested a stockish L-88 in 1968-9 that run 185mph & I believe that was with 3.08s & a turbo 400.

I just had my 69BB up to 115 mph or so...

Go to CC web site, I believe they offer complete systems with Magna mufflers for any year, at least they do for my 69 BB, fit like a charm.

Low comp & solid lifter cam & it didn't want to idle in gear & if you picked up the idle rpm it rev'd to high in neutral. :rolleyes:...

Base 396-427 cams were very mild not wanting to rev to high but provided tons of low end torque.

Unless you've changed something the L-36 390hp engine is 10.5/1 not 11.5/1. At 10.5 I would talk to some cam builders, I'm sure they could recommend a cam that would bleed off some comp at low rpms...

Where were you in the 60s, "Corvette is a sports car"...yes...but it's also a muscle car, stop light to stop light or drag strip & was & still is, VERY successful at that to :)

A properly set-up Quadjet (750cfm) will out perform any of the above listed carbs in both HP & economy. Don't forget GM used those same basic carbs on 68-70 390hp...

My calculation gave me 9-1 comp with flat tops & a 020 shim head gasket & 290 heads. My opinion is it's a nice comprimize between performance & todays gas quality.
