How long is your dipstick?
I recently replaced the tranny pan on my THD 400 73 vert. and noticed that the dipstick just barely was visible out of the filler tube. Can anyone measure their dipstick from the stop to the end and give me the length? Just checking to see I have the right dipstick and dont want to overfill the tranny, the pan is by Moroso and holds around an extra quart

Changing the pan wont effect the dipstick. If you notice the tube does extend below the pan gasket mating surface. Its not uncommon to have just a bit of the stick exposed below the tube. You can check to see if your stick is indexed correctly. With the stick pushed fully down in the tube the full mark should line up with the pan gasket mating surface. Of coarse, this check has to be done with the pan off.
On the lighter side, if the stick is filling the tube completely, and then some, Ide say your doin ok

BB's with A/C got a long handle dipstick but there are/were no service replacements. The replacements sold today don't offer the long dipstick. One of these long dipsticks sold on Ebay for $502 ... FOR REAL!!! 
I guess that would make everyone envy those of us with long ones.

The instructions on mine said it needed an 8 inch dipstick but I wasn't going to bend mine in half to make it fit.
