Hi John, I was told to get a hold of you and ask how to go about fixing my wrecked '66 front end, the only damage is to the fiberglass, none of the reinforcement pieces behind the glass were bent or damaged in any way.

Hello, John. If you had to build another restomod car with a 5 speed, what tranny would you use? Specs as follows: not a racer, just a cruiser. Bone stock LS2 with tube chassis, 3.54 diff, 245/245/17 tires all around, maybe a bit beefier in the rear. Would you go with a mechanical clutch or a hydraulic one?

    Scott,
I have no history with the streetshop chassis, other than to look at one for a possible purchase. I have looked at several frames over the years, but always end up back with SRIII. Mike builds a very nice chassis, at a fair price, and I think his chassis is about the stiffest one on the market. I won't say anything bad about streetshop, even though he is really gotten a black eye lately at the forum for poor customer service. I think he builds a good chassis, but in my opinion, not as good as Mike at SRIII. Mike is always prompt about calling me back whenever I have an issue, and has always resolved the problem.

I really like the C5/C6 suspension setup better than the C4.

You will never regret doing business with SRIII. Mike does what he promises, and is always willing to assist you after the sale, unlike some other shops. I have used his frames for 4 cars, and have been happy with all of them.

    Regards, John McGraw

John- New to this forum and trying to catch up on the depth of info here from you and the other members that have built C2 restomods. I'm ready to order a chassis and I'm looking for some legit feed back regarding ride and handling on completed C2s. This is a significant amount to spend and I'd love to hear pros and cons about your SRIII chassis as well as your history with Street Shop chassis.

Since I haven't figured out how to post pix on this forum.... if you're interested in my project: www.pro-touring.com member:sonksen_design

Anyway, I'd love to chat if you have the time!

John, did your 1960 have a fan clutch (RPO 121)? I am trying to conduct research on the early Eaton Fan clutches. It appears that Eaton started date stamping one of the back bosses on Jan. 1, 1960. I am trying to determine what the fan clutch would have looked like or marked for the cars made prior to Jan. 1, 1960.

The Corvette Specs Guide lists 67 1959 cars with RPO 121. Did you 1959 have a fan clutch? Thank you for your time.

I just got back and saw your note. Sorry the timing did not work - however your results look great. You do work rapidly as well. I am planning on the C5 door handles as well on mine, I saw one that was done about 10 years ago on a C2 and it looked great. I just saw one with a C6 handle molded in. That also looked good.

    John,
I live in Austin, TX also. I am about to have my 72 corvette body put back on the restored frame/chassis. The body has been re-painted by a paint shop here in Austin. I am concerned about the body drop procedure and that it will not be done correctly by the paint shop. Would you be available for a day of consulting services to oversee the body drop and make sure that it is done correctly?
