Default Replace amp

I know! I know! You can't polish a turd!

But has anyone changed out their Bose amp with a new (Arc mini) amp and used the Bose 10' speakers?

I put in an AVIC X930BT radio and I have the upgraded Polk Audio 3" and 5 1/4" speakers. I think it sounds OK at lower volumes, but it distorts pretty quick.

The best plan would be to replace all speakers and amps, so I thought I may replace the amp first and see how it sounds.

You can totally polish it, but it'll still taste funny.

Not a horrible idea at all. Just get it piece by piece :-) Hook up 4 speakers to the aftermarket amp and then get the interior speakers later. You just might have to take it easy on the stock speakers, or have fun blowing them to pieces! If the speakers are already going, more power isn't going to fix a broken cone.

It'll probably end up being a little more work in the long run, but it might make you feel better not spending everything all at once.

How the hell do you fit a 10' speaker in a vatte?
