What you need to remember is if the car has a drain issue, no battery will solve that - that's where most of the reports of Optimas going dead come from.

Optimas do lose voltage at a far slower...

In some cases it's not a choice that's left to you to make, some IHRA tech regulations require them depending on the performance category you're in.

Here's my detailed post from another forum:

I had the same when I installed mine way back when, I used double-sided tape in the opening and pushed it back together, held for until I removed it.

Re: A4 transmission cooler size. (AZC5)

Mine was roughly half the size of yours, but is installed between AC condenser and radiator, not in front of both. Temps around town are 200-210 coolant/oil, and 190-200 tranny.

Re: Corvettes Against Cancer - Hoods Up or Down? (Perfusion)

There's really no preference - if you have something under the hood to show (non stock) then by all means hood up! We did the cruise with top off, that's entirely up to you, the goal is for you to...

I've never heard of a Gilbert informal show - when I'm back in town I'll definitely check it out, great news! Thanks for the heads-up.

Re: Open Headered C5 Sounds cool ! (fast 98 C5)

If you mean you removed the mufflers and over-axle pipes, leaving exhaust dumping from the end of the middle H section, stop immediately. The H dumps right onto the rear transverse spring, which is...

Re: [Arizona] A.C.E. learns to turn left and right at Firebird raceway. (vettetax)

Did you look at the race cars at the track in looking for rotors? The street cars run drilled/slotted for looks. Under hard track use they will crack.

Glad you guys all had fun, it's a blast, isn't it?

Chad, avoid slotted or drilled rotors and run plain ones only, and add Ford Dot3 brake fluid to the list.

Yeah, I drag "raced" once - then got bored and decided to actually race. See, you go from a straight line, drag racing, to turning one direction, Nascar, to turning both directions, road racing, as...

I went and dug up some old old posts from when I was getting into this, there's some info that I think the newcomers will find useful.

Re: Arizona Corvette Enthusiasts (Kens06)

If you're referring to Raybestos QS pads, they'll fade rather quickly on the track. It'd be worth switching to the Raybestos Brutestop pads for the event - they don't fade as quick, certainly dust...

Re: Coming to Arizona (StoutMan)

I don't buy the dry heat argument, after 15+ years here, when it's 120 outside, it doesn't matter.

Very good points though - property values can differ SHARPLY with pretty small changes in...
